Zlapped: Welcome guys to Ask Zlapped, where I’ll be answering your questions 5 days a week.

Zlapped: Hey guys and welcome to episode 9. Today’s question is from D_Zeptz.

D_Zeptz: Hi Zlapped, I want become like you, get income from playing streaming and playing games. Can you teach me how or give me advice on what I must do? I really like playing games. That’s my hobby.

Zlapped: The first step in trying to putting your gaming hobby into an actual everyday thing, where in the future you want to stream and play games. I don’t think I would be the best advice giver here. Mine happened by mistake. I wasn’t intending on doing this.

I would say the biggest advice I can give you is be yourself. Never try to be anyone else. Don’t fake, don’t act. I mean you can, like the old PewDiePie for example. He faked a lot of his reactions. Overly dramatic in a lot of things. Which he admitted. Because that’s what sold his viewers. Ultimately he couldn’t do it anymore because you’d be going out there everyday lying about what you’re doing and lying to yourself and to the viewers.

My biggest advice is be yourself and play the games you love. I get the question about Dota 2 for everyday for over 2 years. I don’t care about that. I love to do what I love to do and that’s the only way I’ll be able to keep a positive attitude. Constantly be able to wake up and stream and play my games. Because if I don’t play something I don’t enjoy I will never be entertaining or remotely fun to watch at all.

So I would say my best advice is be yourself and make sure you have time for your friends and make sure you have time for your friends. Don’t sit and play 24 7. Make sure you have time for your friends. That’s the only reason I’m able to keep going with what I do. Just find that niche game that you want to play and do what you want to do. And beside that I guess, if you want to do streaming and playing set up a Twitch, setup YouTube and be consistent. Consistency is key.

If people know you’re going to be there without you having to say you’re live. My point being human nature, it’s a creature of habit. Everything we do is creatures of habit. So if you’re live every single day at 11, people in there mind and their psychology will know you’re there without having to think about it. They’ll be running around their house, maybe doing their washing and they’ll be “oh yeah Zlapped’s live”. They won’t even have to look at their phone. They don’t have to read Twitter, they don’t have to read Facebook. It’s in their mind that you’ll be live at that point. So consistency is key. I’m not consistent with my YouTube videos for example. They just come out at random. So there’s no way of knowing when I’m going to release a YouTube video. But my Twitch schedule has been very consistent for a long time now and that’s key to anything if you want to have an income by playing games streaming and uploading videos.

If you’re a pro player, it doesn’t matter at all. But if that’s what you want to do and if that’s what you want to start doing then consistency is key.
